In a bid to provide financial relief to primary school teachers in Oyo State, the government has announced the immediate release of a car loan scheme. This decision comes as a response to the economic challenges faced by educators in the state.
The approval for the car loan scheme was given by Governor Seyi Makinde, who emphasized that the process should be fair and transparent, devoid of any favoritism. The loan will be disbursed in tranches, with the condition that it should be utilized for its designated purpose.
The loan, which will be facilitated by financial institutions, requires redemption within a span of 40 months. This time frame allows teachers to comfortably repay the loan, considering their financial circumstances.
The Coordinating Director of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Mr. Jacob Dairo, urged the beneficiaries to exercise prudence in utilizing the loan, ensuring that it is channeled towards the appropriate purpose.
Meanwhile, the State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Salihu Abdulwaheed, recently visited the Directorate of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, affirming the government’s commitment to collaborate with all stakeholders in the education sector.
Abdulwaheed also announced that the state government intends to recruit additional teachers in the basic education sub-sector. This move aims to enhance the quality of education and ensure all-round success in the state’s educational system.
