In a candid interview, former Big Brother Naija All Stars housemate, Uriel Oputa, has revealed her four-year battle with amenorrhea—a condition characterized by the absence of menstruation during the reproductive years.

At 35 years old, Uriel shared that her struggle with amenorrhea was one of the lowest points in her life. Doctors even delivered the heartbreaking news that she may never be able to conceive.

Speaking to media personality Hero Daniels, Uriel opened up about the emotional toll this took on her. She explained, “Before I decided to embark on a health journey, I had several health challenges. One of them was not having my period for four years. I went to the doctors in the UK, and they told me there was a high possibility that I would never be able to have children. I remember leaving the office feeling devastated, thinking that I would never be able to experience motherhood.”

The news plunged Uriel into a deep state of depression. The mere sight of children on television or passing by schools and parks became painful reminders of her potential infertility. In her despair, she made the decision to consider her two-year-old niece as her own child, forging a strong bond that remains to this day.

With her struggles now in the past, Uriel serves as an inspiration to many women facing similar challenges. Through her journey, she found the strength to believe in the possibilities and ultimately triumph over her amenorrhea.
