Moises Caicedo Advised to Choose Liverpool Over Chelsea Amidst Concerns of Club Stability

In a surprising turn of events, former England international Lianne Sanderson has voiced her opinion that Moises Caicedo’s decision to join ‘unstable’ Chelsea is a regrettable one, suggesting that Liverpool would have been a better choice.

Caicedo, the Ecuador international, was given the opportunity to move to Liverpool after Brighton accepted a remarkable £111m bid from the Reds. However, the determined midfielder made it clear that his desire was to sign with Chelsea. Ultimately, the Blues outbid Liverpool, securing the services of Caicedo in a staggering £115m deal.

Sanderson expressed her surprise at Caicedo’s choice, highlighting the perceived instability at Stamford Bridge, which might have deterred her from joining the west London club.

“There is no stability at that club, and that is why I am surprised that Moises Caicedo went to Chelsea,” Sanderson shared during an interview with talkSPORT.

“People were saying, ‘but it is his dream club.’ However, it is worth noting that he previously tagged Arsenal as his dream club about six months ago. While it is a fantastic story, and I believe he is a remarkable signing, personally, I would not have chosen to sign with Chelsea at this time.

“Chelsea is undeniably a massive football club, and I hold Mauricio Pochettino in high regard, but their unstable current situation raises concerns. After all, they finished 12th in the Premier League last season.”
