The delegation of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on Saturday, August 19, 2023 met with the ousted Niger Republic President, Mohamed Bazoum in the nation’s capital, Niamey
The delegation was led by Nigeria’s former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (Retired), Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Abubakar and ECOWAS Commission President, Omar Touray
The ECOWAS envoy told Journalists that he could not disclose the details of his meeting until he reports back to the ECOWAS Leaders
The ousted Niger President has been in detention since July 26, 2023.
