Gov Bago appoints 131 women as coordinators, SSAs

Niger State Governor Umaru Bago has approved the appointment of 131 women into various political positions.

In a statement signed by the chief press secretary to the governor, Bologi Ibrahim, on Friday, 41 of the appointees were to serve as coordinators, while the remaining 90 would serve as senior special assistants, SSAs.

The governor, while playing host to the executives of the International Federation of Women Lawyers, FIDA, in July, promised to appoint 100 women within a week.

He also stressed that his administration has lots of programmes and policies for women and children.

While congratulating the new appointees, the governor urged them to be dedicated and contribute their quota to the success of his administration’s policy thrusts.

He noted that the appointments were in fulfilment of his promise to carry women along in his administration.
