“Delta State Governor Affirms Commitment to Completing Ongoing Projects”

The Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, has given his word that his administration is committed to finishing all ongoing projects in the state. He made this assurance during the 23rd Ogwa Ika and 19th Ika Ka Mma Annual Lecture series, which took place in Idumu-Esah, Ika North East Local Government Area.

Representing the governor at the event, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Kingsley Emu, disclosed that work on the Rest Park, situated between Umunede and Emuhu, will soon commence. He stated, “Concerning the Rest Park, all issues have been addressed and we will soon proceed with construction. As for abandoned road projects, kindly provide the locations and the contractors responsible, and necessary actions will be taken.”

The issue of the relationship between herders and farmers, which has been a growing concern, was not left untouched. Governor Oborevwori revealed that committees have been established in all local government areas to address this challenge. “We are actively working towards finding a solution to the issues faced by herders and farmers,” he affirmed.

Highlighting the importance of unity, the governor emphasized the need for all residents of Delta State to come together. “We must ensure that we are united. We must do everything in our power to promote and foster unity among us,” he urged.

Expressing his concern over the rising trends of delinquency among the youth, Governor Oborevwori stressed that education is not a scam. He advised the young people, saying, “Progress in life is not a one-way street; follow the established paths to success, and you will have no regrets.”

The governor also called upon successful individuals from Ika to invest in their hometown. He emphasized that such investments would create more job opportunities for the younger generation. “Government alone cannot provide employment for everyone; therefore, we need the collaboration of private individuals to stimulate economic growth,” he asserted.

Governor Oborevwori expressed his appreciation to the organizers of the Ogwa Ika event and encouraged them to continue working with traditional rulers, government bodies, and relevant groups to promote a better society.
