President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has inaugurated 45 members of his cabinet, emphasizing the importance of accountability, trust, and transparency in serving the Nigerian people.

The inauguration took place at the Presidential Villa Abuja on Monday, where Tinubu, as the president leading the renewed hope agenda, stressed that Nigerians would be relying on his administration to deliver on the promises of democracy.

Tinubu congratulated the ministerial appointees, highlighting that he handpicked them to assist in governing his administration. However, he made it clear that their performance will be closely monitored to ensure they fulfill their mandates effectively.

According to Tinubu, “In line with constitutional obligations, the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has screened and confirmed 45 ministers who will oversee the ministries of the federal government in this administration of renewed hope.

“The men and women who have been sworn in were carefully selected for their exceptional track records in both the public and private sectors.

“They represent the diversity of Nigeria and bring a wealth of experience and expertise to guide the nation’s affairs, rebuild the nation, and address the financial and infrastructural challenges, which are key foundations for Nigeria’s future.”

With the daunting challenges Nigeria faces, Tinubu sees an opportunity to implement long-overdue reforms that will improve government operations, transform the national economy, and ensure peace, security, and prosperity for the people.

He views these objectives as the core of the renewed hope agenda, which inspired the selection of the appointed ministers.

Tinubu reminded the ministers that they are not representatives of specific regions or states, but instead, ministers of the entire federal republic. He stressed that it is a great honor to be chosen to serve as a minister in the Federal Executive Council, but with that honor comes tremendous responsibility.

“You have been called to distinguish yourselves. While I trust in your abilities, the Nigerian people expect delivery, accountability, and transparency,” Tinubu added.

He expects the ministers to serve with integrity, dignity, and a commitment to delivering their mandates. Tinubu made it clear that he will hold them to the high standards promised to the Nigerian people.

“Your assignment begins immediately. As your country honors you today, you must work to make yourself worthy in the eyes of God and our nation,” he stated.

Tinubu expressed his belief that the government can be a positive transformative force, working collectively towards the progress of the country. He welcomed the ministers to his administration of renewed hope and wished them success in their new roles.

With unity and shared responsibility, Tinubu assured the ministers that he and the Nigerian people are counting on them to meet expectations.

“You are not ministers of a specific state, colony, region, or ethnic group. You are ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. God be with you and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Thank you very much,” Tinubu concluded.
