Ecological Fund Office to construct culverts, bridges on 10km road in Kebbi – Official

Officials of the Ecological Fund Office, under the Office of the Secretary to the Federal Government, SGF, on Monday visited Kebbi for inspection and data capturing for the construction of culverts and stone bridges on a 10 kilometer road in the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the project is expected to take-off from Corner Hotel, Badariya to Rugar Fulani and from Malala to Takalau to Kofa Sabuwa in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The head of the inspection team, Shehu Usman-Bala, said the project was an intervention of the third and fourth quota of 2022.

He explained that the work was meant to mitigate ecological problems in the affected areas.

The team leader appealed to the benefiting communities to extend all the necessary support and cooperation to the contractors to facilitate good and speedy job.

Conducting the delegation round the affected areas on behalf of the state government, the Secretary to Kebbi State Government, SSG, Yakubu Bala-Tafida, assured the people of the area that government was determined to address their plights.

He said the essence of the inspection tour was to assess the level of ecological damages with a view to proffering solution.

The SSG assured the people that the state governor would key into the construction project in order to avert erosion problems and collapse of building in the areas.

Mr Bala-Tafida sought for more support and cooperation to government policies and programmes to enable the new administration under Dr Nasir Idris to effectively deliver the dividends of democracy to all nooks and crannies of the state.

Responding on behalf of the benefiting communities, Ayyuba Gamji-Andi, appreciated government for coming to their aid and prayed for more developmental projects in the area.
