Plateau Security: Nigerian Army and Police Forge Closer Collaboration to Tackle Insecurity

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army (NA) and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), Major General AE Abubakar, has hailed the successful partnership between the army and other security agencies in curbing security challenges, particularly in volatile areas of Plateau State.

Lieutenant Colonel Ishaku Takwa, Acting Deputy Director of the 3 Division, Army Public Relations, stated in a press release that during a courtesy call from Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, CP Okoro Julius Alawar, General Abubakar emphasized the need for collaboration among security agencies in order to combat criminal activities.

According to the statement, the Chief Of Defence Staff has urged all security agencies to work together, particularly by sharing intelligence, to eliminate criminals and ensure a peaceful environment for Nigerians. General Abubakar also praised the contributions of the police contingent in Operation SAFE HAVEN and highlighted the importance of engaging stakeholders at the grassroots level to end violence and restore stability in the state. He assured the Commissioner of Police of his commitment to strengthening the existing relationship between the military and the police in Plateau State.

In response, Commissioner Okoro Julius Alawar expressed the critical nature of collaboration and synergy between different security agencies. He emphasized that such partnership is essential for reducing crime rates and ensuring a stable environment.
