In a heartfelt message, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his warmest regards to His Eminence, Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, and the esteemed Sokoto Sultanate Council, as the influential religious leader celebrates his 67th birthday on August 24, 2023.
Through his special adviser on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu expressed his joy and gratitude to the leader of the Qadiriyya Sufi order.
President Tinubu also acknowledged the Sultan’s unwavering dedication and selflessness. Since assuming office in November 2006, the Sultan of Sokoto has tirelessly worked towards promoting peaceful coexistence within Nigeria.
Tinubu commended the Sultan for his generosity, approachability, and commitment to fostering harmonious relationships. He especially commended him for seizing every opportunity to educate citizens on the importance of unity, while creating platforms, such as the National Peace Committee’s Peace Accord for elections, to strengthen Nigeria’s unity.
President Tinubu firmly believes that the Sultan’s vast experience will continue to be an invaluable asset in bridging the religious, ethnic, and cultural divides that exist in the nation.
He concluded his message by sending his prayers for continued health, wisdom, and strength to the Sultan of Sokoto.
