The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has recently announced the upgrade of its outpost in Damba, Gusau Local Government Area, to a fully functioning divisional office. This move comes in response to the escalating security challenges faced by the Damba area and aims to enhance the NSCDC’s efforts in tackling the prevailing insecurity in the state.

The state commandant, Sani Mustapha, expressed his gratitude to the NSCDC Commandant General, Dr Abubakar Ahmed Audi, for granting approval to upgrade selected outposts to divisional offices. Mustapha emphasized the urgent need for this transformation in order to effectively address the security concerns plaguing the area and safeguard the state capital.

Underlining his commitment to enhancing security measures, Mustapha also mentioned his plans to establish a robust security network in the Gusau metropolis. This network will serve as a formidable defense against the recurrence of past security issues.

During the commissioning of the divisional office, Mustapha commended the unwavering support of the Damba community and other stakeholders who generously contributed to the construction of the office building. He expressed his appreciation for their dedication and their collaborative efforts in promoting peace and security in the region.

The Damba Division will encompass Saminaka Merere, Lalan, Gidan Kwagira, and other areas within the Damba metro, strengthening the NSCDC’s presence and reach in these critical locations.

Alongside the upgrade, a new Hilux vehicle was assigned to the division, providing the divisional officer, DSC Sanusi Danmani, with essential mobility and resources. Danmani was also issued a redeployment letter during the commissioning ceremony.

Alhaji Sambo Ciroma, the district head of Damba, expressed his delight at the establishment of the divisional office. He praised the NSCDC’s resilience in addressing security challenges and actively combating insecurity in the state. Alhaji Sambo reassured the corps of his full support for the newly established division and promised the community’s commitment to providing an even more suitable edifice for the Damba division of the NSCDC in the near future.
