The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) has issued a stern reminder to clubs about the forthcoming licensing processes for the 2023/2024 season, slated to commence in September.
These processes are in accordance with the licensing regulations outlined for clubs participating in the league.
This important notice was communicated through a memo from the NPFL’s head of operations, Davidson Owumi.
Owumi emphasized that registration for the upcoming season would only be finalized upon the provision of convincing evidence of compliance, especially in cases involving outstanding salaries owed to past and current players as well as officials.
He further warned that clubs with outstanding debts would not be allowed to register any new players.
Owumi made it clear that clubs that have had their cases heard by the NFF Arbitration panel must approach the NPFL registration schedule officers with proof of compliance or letters of mutual consent settlements.
