In a move to improve the standard of the Nigeria National League (NNL), the league’s board has announced plans to conduct a comprehensive training program for all 40 coaches in the division. The initiative, aimed at upgrading their knowledge and skills, will have a significant impact on the upcoming season.
The announcement was made by the Chairman of the NNL, George Aluo, during a courtesy visit to the National Institute for Sports in Lagos. Aluo expressed his commitment to raising the bar for coaching standards in Nigerian football and emphasized the importance of providing continuous training opportunities for coaches.
During the visit, Mr. Aluo successfully secured the support of the NIS boss, Professor Olawale Moronkola, who pledged to offer the league the best expertise available. Professor Moronkola highlighted the institution’s readiness to contribute to the success of the training program and its unwavering support for the NNL in the upcoming season.
The highly anticipated 2023-2024 NNL season is scheduled to commence in September, with expectations running high for an elevated level of play as a result of the coaches’ enhanced capabilities.
