Umahi Gives Abuja-Lokoja Road Contractors 60 Days to Rectify Deficiencies

The Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, has set a deadline of 60 days for contractors responsible for the Abuja-Lokoja roads to address the existing flaws in their work.

During an interview on Thursday with Channels Television, Umahi, who formerly served as the Governor of Ebonyi State, expressed his dissatisfaction with some of the contractors’ performance.

The Minister also disclosed his plans to embark on a tour of various federal roads throughout the country to assess the extent of deterioration and devise a comprehensive strategy for necessary repairs.

He stated, “I have instructed the contractors working on the Abuja-Lokoja road to resume work immediately, and I have given them a two-month deadline to rectify all the deficiencies.”

Furthermore, Umahi shared, “Today, I will be visiting the Kaduna-Kano road, and next Tuesday, I will be inspecting the roads in the Southwest region. It is imperative that I witness the conditions firsthand.”
