In an effort to alleviate the current hardship faced by the constituents of the Yobe North Senatorial District, Nigeria’s former Senate President and current senator, Ahmad Lawan, has announced his plan to distribute 9000 bags of grains. The distribution is part of the intervention by Senator Lawan to complement the ongoing efforts by both the Yobe state and the Federal government.
The Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan (SAIL) EMPOWERMENT FOUNDATION will be spearheading this initiative, encompassing all 60 wards in Yobe North Senatorial District. The distribution event is scheduled to take place on Saturday at Filin Katuzu, Gashua, Bade Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The allocation of grains includes 6000 bags of rice and 3000 bags of millet, carefully chosen to provide essential sustenance for the constituents.
The beneficiaries of this initiative extend beyond the six local government areas of Yobe North Senatorial District, namely Bade, Nguru, Jakusko, Karasuwa, Yusufari, and Machina LGAs. The outreach will also include Muslim religious groups, Christian communities, and Persons with Disabilities.
Advancing Technical Education
In addition to the grain distribution, Senator Lawan is slated to hand over the newly constructed and established Federal Science and Technical College Gashua to the Yobe State Government on Saturday. This official handing over to the Federal Government, through the Federal Ministry of Education, marks a significant milestone in fostering technical education in the region.
Anticipating its first student enrollment later this year, the Technical College holds the promise of equipping young minds with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
