These generous donations were made by the Defense Chiefs and the Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA).
The donated items comprise of 300 bags of 25kg rice, 250 bags of Semovita, 250 bottles of groundnut oil, and 250 pieces of clothing made from Ankara fabric. These contributions aim to provide support and assistance to the First Lady’s admirable initiative.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the First Lady, Prof. Hafsat Ganduje, a member of the RHI Governing Council, sincerely appreciated DEPOWA for their thoughtful gesture, stating, “It aligns perfectly with the mission of the RHI to ensure a better life for all families.”
Prof. Ganduje further shared, “We are delighted to see this particular organization embrace the Renewed Hope Initiative. This initiative has identified crucial areas that require attention, and with the grace of God, we aim to address them during President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s tenure.”
She assured the donors that the items would be used judiciously for the intended purpose. ““The items will be utilized prudently, especially to alleviate the hardships faced by our people. They are in good hands, and I guarantee that they will be distributed accordingly, ensuring the enjoyment and benefit of our people,” she added.
During the handover of the items to RHI, Mrs. Gwabe emphasized that the donation was a fulfillment of the Association’s commitment to supporting the empowerment of women through the First Lady’s esteemed initiative. She pledged DEPOWA’s unwavering dedication to the pet project, extending its support to various pivotal areas such as agriculture, health, economic empowerment, social investment, and education.
