In a bid to address the strategic importance of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria road, the Kaduna State Government has urgently called upon the Federal Ministry of Works to expedite its completion.

Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa-Balarabe, the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, made the impassioned appeal during a visit from the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, who was conducting a tour of federal roads in the state.

Mrs. Balarabe also emphasized the need for the speedy construction of the Eastern bye-pass, which began in 2002, and the reconstruction of Nnamdi Azikiwe Way.

According to Mrs. Balarabe, robust road infrastructure serves as a crucial public asset and catalyst for social cohesion.

She further highlighted that well-constructed roads open up previously inaccessible areas and stimulate economic and social development.

Once completed, these roads will not only enhance security for motorists but also significantly reduce travel distances,” Mrs. Balarabe stated.

In response, the minister assured the deputy governor of the accelerated progress on the Abuja-Kaduna road, asserting that the project would be completed by 2024.

He pledged to ensure that the roads are maintained to a high standard, as directed by President Bola Tinubu, and announced his plans to conduct physical inspections in all regions of the country.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the federal government has prioritized the reconstruction of all federal roads to ensure safe and efficient transportation for all Nigerians.
