Kaduna gov’t appeals to FG for speedy completion of Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria road

Kaduna state government has appealed to the Federal Ministry of Works to ensure the speedy completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria road in view of its strategic importance, and the Eastern bye-pass which construction began in 2002 and the reconstruction of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Way.

The deputy governor of Kaduna State, Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, said this when she received the Minister of Works, David Umahi, who was on an inspection tour of federal roads in Kaduna State.

She said that good road infrastructure is the most important public asset and agent for social cohesion.

Mr Balarabe also disclosed that roads open up areas and stimulate economic and social developments.

According to her, when these roads are completed, it will surely enhance security for motorists and enthrone shorter travel distances.

Earlier in his remarks, the minister assured the Deputy Governor of expedited work on the Abuja-Kaduna road, adding that the project will not go beyond 2024.

He assured that he will ensure that the roads are put in proper condition for all Nigerians, saying he will be visiting all the regions for physical inspection as directed by President Bola Tinubu.

He said the Federal government has placed priority on the reconstruction of all federal roads.
