KAROTA seizes counterfeit pesticides, pharmaceutical products in Kano

The Kano Road and Traffic Agency, KAROTA, says it has confiscated fake, expired pesticides and pharmaceutical  products worth N30 million in the state.

This is contained in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Agency, Nabilusi Abubakar, on Friday in Kano.

He said that personnel of the Agency impounded the vehicle conveying counterfeit and expired pesticides and pharmaceutical products on Aug. 24, at about 9:00 p.m on Zaria road.

“The personnel suspected the vehicle, upon interrogation the driver who presented a backdated waybill, eventually abadonned the vehicle and ran away,” he said.

He listed the products to include Magnesium suspension; pain killers, Amoxicillin, Diclofenac injections, Ciprofloxacin, antibiotics, Dexamethasone, among others.
