Peter Rufai Expresses Interest in Coaching Super Eagles

Peter Rufai, acclaimed as one of Nigeria’s finest goalkeepers, has recently revealed his desire to contribute to the coaching setup of the Super Eagles.

Rufai, who made 65 appearances for the three-time African champions in his career, hopes to make a significant impact on the team’s goalkeeping department.

Despite his retirement from active football, the 59-year-old former Lokeren goalie has not been involved with the national team until now.

Speaking on Sports Salsa (Kennis 104.1FM), Rufai declared, “I’m prepared to demonstrate advanced goalkeeping techniques to the Super Eagles and I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to serve as one of their coaches in the future.”

Recognizing the talent within the team, Rufai emphasized the importance of developing the goalkeeping aspect. “We have goalkeepers, but something seems to be lacking. You cannot offer what you do not possess. We have an abundance of talent, yet goalkeeping involves more than just catching the ball,” he added.
