Benue State Governor Condemns Assassination of Justice Margaret Igbetar

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State vehemently condemns the heinous murder of Justice Margaret Igbetar, an esteemed former President of the Customary Court of Appeal. The shocking incident, perpetrated by unidentified assailants, occurred earlier this week at her residence in Makurdi. Justice Igbetar’s lifeless body was discovered by her son on Thursday.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia expressed deep concern regarding the incident. He expressed disbelief that a citizen who had significantly contributed to the state’s progress through her various roles, particularly in safeguarding the rights and liberties of vulnerable members of society, could fall victim to such a heinous crime.

Filled with consternation, Governor Alia has directed state security agencies to take immediate and decisive action to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure they are brought to justice. As he mourns the loss of Justice Igbetar, the governor emphasizes that her murder is not only a devastating blow to her family, but also to the judiciary, the state, and humanity as a whole.
