Spanish left-back Marc Cucurella, currently playing for Chelsea, is reportedly on the brink of joining Manchester United.
According to sources, Manchester United is actively pursuing a deal to secure the services of the highly sought-after defender. Cucurella arrived at Chelsea in a record-breaking £62 million transfer from Brighton in 2022.
However, the young defender’s first season with the Blues proved to be a challenging one.
Despite his immense talent, Marc Cucurella did not make a single start in any competitive game under the management of Mauricio Pochettino.
With Manchester United’s regular left-back, Luke Shaw, currently sidelined with an injury, the club is in dire need of a suitable replacement. In light of this, Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, is keen on swiftly recruiting an emergency option for the position.
It has been reported that Manchester United made an informal offer to Cucurella over the weekend.
Spanish publication Marca revealed that Cucurella is now in advanced negotiations to complete a loan move to Old Trafford.
