Policies and Programmes of Government Will Have a Tangible Impact on Nigerians, Says Information Minister

By Timothy Choji, Abuja

Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has expressed confidence that Nigerians will soon start experiencing the positive effects of the government’s policies and programmes under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

Idris gave this assurance on Monday while addressing State House Correspondents at the conclusion of the inaugural meeting of the Federal Executive Council, which was chaired by President Tinubu.

The Minister emphasized that the current set of Ministers are highly motivated and committed to working in the best interest of the nation and its citizens.

“The ministers are enthusiastic and determined to work, and the impact of all government policies and programmes will be felt by Nigerians in the near future,” said Idris.

The Information Minister took the opportunity to encourage journalists to verify their facts before publishing reports, so as not to “spread misinformation to the public.”

He reassured Nigerians that President Tinubu would maintain accountability and transparency in all his dealings, and that the Ministers are collectively committed to doing the same.

“As the President has repeatedly stated, he will be transparent, accountable, and honest with Nigerians, and all the Ministers have committed to doing likewise.

“We understand your role as the Fourth Estate of the Realm within the constitution; however, we expect you to have a good understanding of government policies. We will be as open as possible in sharing government programs and projects with you. If you have any questions, please reach out to us to avoid disseminating inaccurate information to Nigerians. It is crucial for our reports to be fact-based,” he stated.
