Nigerian singer, Divine Ikubor, widely known as Rema, has achieved an unprecedented feat as his song ‘Calm Down’ featuring Selena Gomez has become the first song in history to spend an entire year at the top of the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs chart.

This remarkable achievement was confirmed by Chart Data, the American data collection company, on Monday.

‘Calm Down’ has impressively maintained its position as number one on the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs chart for a staggering 52 consecutive weeks.

While the song reached the commendable position of number three on the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 chart, it also secured the top spot on the Canadian Top Songs chart.

It is worth noting that Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ had previously made history by claiming the title of the First No.1 Hit on The Official MENA Chart, the world’s very first regional streaming chart, as recognized by the Guinness World Records. The MENA Chart, launched by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) on November 29, 2022, saw ‘Calm Down’ debut at the coveted number one position.
