Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria, ACPN, has declared that the Oyo state authorities has no proper to seal any pharmacy within the State.
The affiliation made this disclosure on Tuesday.
Media Talk Africa recollects that the Oyo State authorities, by its ministry of agriculture and rural growth, had on Monday sealed one of many pharmacies within the State.
The State commissioner for agriculture and rural growth, Olasunkanmi Olaleye in an announcement made accessible to Media Talk Africa claimed that FinRel Pharmacy Supermarket and Bakery in Ibadan was sealed as a result of it was working an illegal veterinary pharmacy.
But, ACPN in its response, declared that it’s incorrect for the State authorities by the ministry of agriculture and rural growth to seal the pharmacy.
ACPN Chairman in Oyo State, Mr. Adebayo Gbadamosi famous that medication had been below unique checklist, therefore the State authorities or the ministry had no energy to seal any pharmacy.
Gbadamosi, who spoke with Media Talk Africa Tuesday night, known as on Governor Seyi Makinde to wade in, in order to keep away from breakdown of regulation and order.
He defined that the State authorities and veterinary medical doctors don’t have any energy to go to any pharmacy and seal it.
He described the motion as illegal and unconstitutional.
Gbadamosi, within the phone dialog, urged the State authorities not to enable itself to be used to trigger a disaster within the State.
“Whatever they have done is illegal. It is illegal because pharmacies are under exclusive list.
“It is legislated by the federal government. Drugs, be it for animals or human beings is under exclusive list.
“Oyo State government should know that they are starting what may lead to breakdown of law and order.
“We have a Pharmacy Act which states that pharmacists have control of drugs be it for animals or human beings. They want to collide with the veterinary doctors to harass our members.
“They have no power to come to our premises. We are the one to check the veterinary doctors. We employ veterinary doctors in our pharmacies and it will affect them.
“Oyo State is allowing itself to be used. Veterinary doctors are blackmailing my members. How can the ministry of agriculture come and seal a pharmacy? It is totally wrong and illegal. Oyo State government has to be careful.”
