The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused Governor Hope Uzodimma-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration of resorting to violence, smear marketing campaign and propaganda towards the individuals of the state.
PDP claimed that Uzodimma and the APC administration in Imo have been in concern of imminent defeat by the PDP, forward of the November 11, 2023 governorship election.
According to the celebration, ”APC is pissed off by the open rejection of Uzodimma by majority of the individuals of the state on account of his abysmal failure in workplace, the excruciating financial hardship and senseless killing of 1000’s of harmless Imo citizens underneath his horrifying watch.
This is contained in an announcement issued on Tuesday by Debo Ologunagba, the National Publicity Secretary and Chairman of the PDP Special National Publicity Committee for Imo, Bayelsa and Kogi Governorship Elections.
Ologunagba alleged that the APC has resorted to deploying devices of State energy to hound and harass opposition voices, having realized that there isn’t any means Uzodimma may win in a peaceable, free and truthful election.
He alleged that APC’s sinister method of attacking the individuals of Imo State is to intensify the already tensed safety scenario within the State, instill concern within the individuals, stop them from popping out to train their democratic proper to vote, with the intention of making an enabling scenario for the APC to rig the election.
“Having realized that there is no way Governor Uzodimma can win in a peaceful, free and fair election, the APC has resorted to deploying instruments of state power to hound and harass opposition voices in the state.
“APC’s sinister approach of attacking the people of Imo State is apparently to heighten the already tensed security situation in the State, instill fear in the people, prevent them from coming out to exercise their democratic right to vote, with the intention to creating an enabling situation for the APC to rig the election,” a part of the assertion learn.
PDP additional claimed that nefarious schemes by the APC have been meant to cow the individuals of Imo State and subdue their resolve to rescue the State from the stranglehold of the APC
The celebration insisted that the APC is preventing a misplaced battle and that Imo persons are larger than any particular person or group, sustaining that no quantity of violence, inducement, intimidation, and harassment can subdue the need of the individuals.
