Zamfara ready to bring back Sharia – Commissioner

Zamfara State’s Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Alhaji Suleiman Adamu Gummi, has vowed that his ministry would revive and enhance Islamic Sharia within the state.

Speaking with newsmen in Gusau, the state capital, Gummi mentioned his ministry is in search of assist from related stakeholders and authorities to make sure that the Sharia authorized system is correctly entrenched in Zamfara.

“We are advising the citizens of the state to exercise patience with this present administration because it is new,” he added.

He referred to as on Islamic clerics to concern Allah and be as truthful as to function counsellors to the state authorities.

Speaking earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Malam Bashiru Surajo, recommended Governor Dauda Lawal for appointing a famend Islamic scholar like Suleiman Adamu Gummi because the Commissioner of Religious Affairs to revive the Sharia authorized system within the state.
