Kano election tribunal: Ganduje’s son loses petition

The elections petition tribunal in Kano has dismissed the petition filed by Abba Ganduje, the son of former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, for lack of merit and ordered him to pay N200,000 each to the respondents, Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The court dismissed the petition by Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress (APC) challenging the victory of NNPP’s Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe in the Rimin Gado/Dawakin Tofa/Tofa House of Representatives election conducted on March 25, 2023.

The three-judge panel dismissed the petition for lack of merit.

The tribunal averred that the petitioner failed to present sufficient evidence to support the allegation.
