Future of Nigeria lies in your hands – Gov Namadi charges corps members

Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi has urged members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, to prepare for great work ahead as the future of this nation lies in their hands.

The Governor stated this at the closing ceremony of the orientation program for 2023 Batch ‘B’ Stream 2 Corp members at Gen. Yakubu Gowin’s permanent orientation camp, Dutse Local Government Area.

Represented by the Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, Hon. Sagir Musa, he advised the corps members to detest all forms of social vices and respect the customs and traditions of their host communities.

“You have to be ready for the bigger responsibility, you must serve with honesty and faithfully as future leaders of the country.

“It’s obvious that the future of this nation lies in your hands and you cannot afford to fail.

“As change agents, you’re expected to contribute to the various government policies and programs through active mobilization, social campaigns, and community service development services to reawaken the conscience of our people,” he said.

Earlier, the NYSC Coordinator in the State, Hajiya Aishatu Adamu warned corps members against absconding from their places of primary assignment.
