2023 AFCON Qualifier: Orban to miss Super Eagles vs Sao Tome

Gift Orban has been ruled out of Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe.

Orban missed the team’s last training session at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Saturday night.

The 21-year-old sustained an injury in the Super Eagles’ training session on Friday.

The Gent striker watched from the sidelines as his teammates slugged it out on the pitch ahead of the game.

Orban will now have to wait to make his debut for the three-time African champions.

The other new invitees, Victor Boniface and Jordan Torunarigha, are in line to debut against the True Patriots.
