AFCONQ: Osimhen hits hat-trick as Super Eagles thrash Sao Tome 6-0

Nigeria rounded off their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series with a 6-0 win over Sao Tome and Principe on Sunday.

The Super Eagles came into the game having already qualified for next year’s tournament.

However, the three-time African champions were not in the mood to let up, as they took the game to the visitors from the first minute.

Nigeria went into the break two goals up, thanks to Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman.

Nottingham Forest striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, continued scoring in the second half before Osimhen completed his hat-trick. Samuel Chukwueze grabbed a late goal at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

The Eagles will finish top of Group A with 15 points.
