Imo Killing: Shedding Blood Not Necessary for Actualizing Biafra, says IPOB on Ehime Attack

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has emphasized that the shedding of blood is unnecessary to achieve Biafra independence.

Emma Powerful, the spokesperson of IPOB, made this statement while strongly condemning the violent attack on Nigerian security officers in the Ehime Mbano area of Imo State.

During the incident, a brutal attack took place in the Ehime Local Government Area of Imo State, resulting in the death of several police and military officers.

Powerful expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stressing that the Biafra agitation had always been peaceful until the Nigerian government began sponsoring splinter groups.

In a statement, Powerful expressed, “We, the global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), led by the courageous and indefatigable Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, vehemently condemn the bloody attack that led to the death of eight police and military officers in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.”

He further added, “Reckless acts of violence such as this are not necessary for achieving Biafra’s freedom in our territory.”

“The Biafra agitation, championed by IPOB since 2012, has always been completely peaceful, until the Nigerian government started sponsoring splinter groups with the aim of maligning IPOB and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,” Powerful continued.

“Today, the monsters they have nurtured are turning against them. For years, IPOB has been raising the alarm about the sinister plans of the Nigerian government towards our peaceful agitation, which simply demands a referendum for the Biafran people to determine their own destiny as an indigenous population.”
