Yobe State Government Seeks Stronger Collaboration with TETFund

The Yobe State Government has emphasized the importance of maintaining strong collaborative efforts with the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).

During a courtesy visit by officials of TETFund to Governor Mai Mala Buni’s office in Damaturu on Thursday, the Governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali, expressed his appreciation for TETFund’s support in assisting state-owned tertiary institutions through the provision of facilities and manpower training.

In a statement released by the Press Secretary to the Secretary to the State Government, Shuaibu Abdullahi, the Governor highlighted that the intervention projects funded by TETFund have been invaluable in improving the standard of education in Yobe State.

He also acknowledged the State Government’s efforts in providing necessary facilities and scholarships, while commending TETFund for their complementary role in advancing the education sector.

Governor Buni called for the continuation of collaborative efforts to further uplift the education sector in the State.

During the meeting, the leader of the TETFund team, Dr Yusuf Ibrahim Gamawa, mentioned that their visit was part of an assessment tour of the State College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Gujba.

Dr Gamawa explained that there are specific operational guidelines and requirements that institutions need to meet in order to qualify for TETFund intervention.
