Manchester City Midfielder Rodri Suspended for Arsenal Game

Manchester City midfielder, Rodri, will not be available for the upcoming Premier League clash against Arsenal. The Spanish player was red-carded for violent conduct during City’s match against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

City emerged victorious with a 2-0 win against Forest at the Etihad Stadium. Goals from Phil Foden and Erling Haaland secured the win for the team. However, Rodri’s involvement in an altercation with Morgan Gibbs-White resulted in his dismissal.

The incident occurred just a minute after the restart. Rodri was attempting to guide the ball out of play while under pressure from Gibbs-White. It seemed that the presence of the Forest forward annoyed him, causing both players to confront one another.

Regrettably, things escalated as Rodri appeared to place his hands around Gibbs-White’s neck. Although it is worth noting that Gibbs-White’s reaction may have been exaggerated, he fell to the ground after Rodri made another attempt at him. The VAR system reviewed the incident and had no choice but to show Rodri a red card.

As a result of his suspension, Rodri will be forced to miss the next three matches for Man City, including the highly anticipated clash against Arsenal scheduled for October 8th.
