During his sermon at the Thanksgiving Service, the Bishop of Lagos Diocese, Anglican Communion (Church of Nigeria) Rt. Revd. Ifedola Okupevi, urged all judicial officers, especially judges and magistrates, to approach their roles with the fear of God. He stressed the need for justice to be delivered promptly and for the judiciary to provide free legal services for the less privileged.

Bishop Okupevi also called on the judiciary to ensure the decongestion of Correctional Centres and maintain accountability as a watchdog over other branches of government. Expressing appreciation for President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to revamp the economy, the Bishop appealed for further measures to alleviate the suffering of the masses.

The Bishop concluded by praying for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, asking for strength, energy, and grace to govern with equity. He also highlighted the Church’s commitment to empowering traders and the less privileged in the vicinity of the church.
