Exploiting Taraba’s Bountiful Tourism Potential: Governor Kefas’ Vision

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has reasserted his administration’s unwavering commitment to harnessing the immense tourism potential of the state as a means of generating revenue.

Speaking in Gembu, the administrative headquarters of Sardauna Local Government Council, Governor Kefas commemorated World Tourism Day and highlighted that the goal of revenue generation would be achieved through the use of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) and collaboration with development partners.

The governor emphasized that significant emphasis would be placed on tourism development, with a particular focus on extensive tree planting initiatives to preserve the ecosystem.

Governor Kefas acknowledged that tourism in Taraba has been undervalued in previous administrations and promised that his government would work tirelessly to create employment opportunities and enhance the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

He stated, “To safeguard our tourist attractions, I have directed the task force to halt illegal mining and deforestation. We have also initiated an extensive tree planting campaign.”

Furthermore, Kefas added, “The government will actively promote and preserve the unique cultural heritage handed down to us by our ancestors.”

Joseph Nagombe, the Commissioner for Heritage and Ecotourism, fully supported the governor’s vision. He expressed the ministry’s commitment to partnering with the state government to position Taraba as a prime attraction for both local and international tourists.

The commissioner believed that the state government’s efforts would create a conducive environment for investment, leveraging the abundant natural resources across Taraba to significantly contribute to the nation’s economy.
