In a congratulatory message, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) expressed confidence in Nigeria’s progress, stating, “The country’s march to greatness is on course, and on an even stronger footing, regardless of its own share of the challenges of nation-building that every society goes through.”
Highlighting Nigeria’s resilience, the Governor emphasized that the nation has continually emerged stronger from adversity and reassured Nigerians that current challenges will be overcome. He called for unity and commitment to achieving collective goals, including political maturity, economic growth, and collective prosperity.

Dr. Waheed Balogun, a lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic in Offa, shared mixed feelings about Nigeria’s 63rd independence anniversary. While acknowledging the nation’s sovereignty, he expressed disappointment that Nigeria, with its abundant natural and human resources, still faces developmental challenges after more than six decades. Despite this, Dr. Waheed recognized the progress made in technology since independence.
