Residents of Lafia Brave Heavy Rainfall to Celebrate as Court Disqualifies Governor Sule and Declares Ombugadu Winner in Nasarawa

The streets of Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State, are brimming with jubilation as news breaks that Governor Abdullahi Sule’s victory in the March 18 gubernatorial poll has been nullified by the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.

David Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared the rightful winner of the election by the three-man panel of the tribunal.

The tribunal’s decision has ignited widespread celebration among the state’s residents, particularly among Ombugadu’s loyal supporters.

Notably, former governors Al-Makura Tanko and Adamu Abdullahi Adamu, who were present in the courtroom, hastily departed as it became apparent that the All Progressives Congress (APC) was going to lose the case.

Journalists attempting to interview the former governors were met with resistance from the security personnel assigned to protect them.

Several elated residents expressed their satisfaction with the court’s ruling.

Despite the heavy rainfall, residents have taken to the streets, jubilantly commemorating the outcome of the judgment.
