Kogi CP Condemns SDP’s Disregard for his Authority

The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Berthrand Onuoha, has strongly refuted allegations of partiality made by the opposition Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the state.

Onuoha expressed his dissatisfaction with the party’s actions, stating that they were undermining his authority as the Commissioner of Police. He accused the SDP of not following due process in their requests and failing to honor multiple invitations from the command.

Speaking in Lokoja on Tuesday, Onuoha addressed inquiries from journalists regarding recent claims by the SDP about inadequate security for their activities.

He stressed that he is open to all political parties seeking security coverage during their campaigns, as long as they abide by the proper procedures.

Regarding the upcoming gubernatorial election, Onuoha issued a stern warning against any actions by political actors that could potentially disrupt the state’s peace.

He called upon the people of Kogi State to remain vigilant and law-abiding, urging them to carry out their activities lawfully. Onuoha also emphasized that the police command has been making significant progress in combating criminal elements.
