EPL: Nottingham Forest Manager Expresses Confidence in Awoniyi’s Recovery

Nottingham Forest’s manager, Steve Cooper, has expressed his belief that Taiwo Awoniyi will come back stronger from his recent injury setback.

The talented Nigerian international is currently sidelined with a groin injury, which is expected to keep him out of action for approximately one month.

This unfortunate injury has also forced Awoniyi to withdraw from Nigeria’s upcoming friendly matches against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.

It is worth noting that Awoniyi had previously missed several weeks of play last season due to a similar groin issue.

However, he showcased his determination and resilience by making a successful comeback, playing a vital role in Nottingham Forest’s fight for Premier League survival.

Consequently, Cooper is fully confident that Awoniyi will deliver a commendable performance once he returns to the pitch.

“Of course, this is a setback. Awoniyi has been our main striker,” Cooper explained to the Nottingham Post.

“He sustained the injury during the game against Brentford. However, he has proven in the past that he can come back stronger from such setbacks. He knows what it takes, and he will fully commit to his recovery.”

Notably, Awoniyi has already scored three goals in the Premier League this season, highlighting his contribution to Nottingham Forest’s attacking prowess.
