Shooting Stars’ Victory against Gombe United Proves to be a Tough Challenge, Says Coach Ogunbote

The head coach of Shooting Stars, Gbenga Ogunbote, has revealed that the Nigeria Premier Football League matchday three encounter against Gombe United was a tough battle, as anticipated.

Despite the difficulties faced, Ogunbote expressed his happiness over his team’s victorious performance in the game.

“It was a difficult game, and it comes as no surprise. Last season, when Gombe United came here, we defeated them 3-0,” the experienced tactician commented.

“They were determined to come back and secure at least one point, but regardless of when the goal came, what mattered most was that we gave it our all. I commend the boys for their efforts,” added the former Rangers International coach.

Ogunbote further acknowledged the strength of the opposition, stating, “We were up against a formidable team that did everything in their power to deny us any scoring opportunities. Babaganaru is an astute coach, so I knew it was going to be a tough game.”

Shooting Stars conceded an early goal in the game, but made a remarkable comeback in the second half with two goals scored by their captain, Taofeek Malomo.
