Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum Calls for Solidarity in Mining Sector

AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), has urged increased collaboration between the Nigerian and State governments to advance the solid mineral industry.

AbdulRazaq, who is also the Governor of Kwara State, made this call during a dinner event held in Abuja. The dinner was organized by the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development in partnership with the Africa Finance Corporation. The aim of the event was to enhance regulatory governance and accelerate the development of the mining sector.

The gathering was attended by high-ranking government officials and stakeholders. Governor AbdulRazaq stressed the importance of stronger cooperation between the Nigerian and State governments in the field of solid minerals, particularly in addressing the challenges posed by non-state actors in the mining sector.

Furthermore, AbdulRazaq advocated for the local processing of precious stones before exporting them. He stated, “This approach will not only create thousands of jobs across the entire value chain but also stimulate an unprecedented economic boom for the benefit of our country.

He went on to say, “I am championing the local processing of our precious stones, including lithium, before export. This will generate countless employment opportunities and drive an incomparable economic upturn, greatly benefiting our nation,” emphasized the NGF Chairman.

Governor AbdulRazaq extended his congratulations to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr. Dele Alake, for the success of the event, which attracted top industry players.

In his words, “I congratulate my dear brother, the Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr. Dele Alake, for the resounding success of the event, which was attended by influential figures in the industry,” AbdulRazaq remarked.
