Ogun residents attempt to scoop fuel from fallen tanker on Lagos-Ibadan expressway

Ogun residents along the Lagos-Ibadan highway on Wednesday attempted to scoop fuel from a fallen tanker.

Media Talk Africa learnt that residents trooped out with jerry cans in their hands immediately after the tanker crashed, barricading the highway and spilling its contents.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the crash of the tanker to newsmen.

FRSC spokesperson in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, said: “A crash involving a fallen tanker just occurred around Danco on the outward section of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

“FRSC rescue team is on ground, fire service has been contacted, and the crash area has been cordoned off to prevent a secondary crash.”

Media Talk Africa reports that the fallen tanker has caused heavy gridlock on the highway.
