EPL: He’s a massive plus for them – Wright-Phillips names player to help Arsenal’s title challenge

Former Manchester City ace, Shaun Wright-Phillips, has identified Declan Rice as the player to help the Gunners in their Premier League title race this season.

Wright-Phillips believes Rice will play a major role in Arsenal’s title charge this term, adding that the England midfielder is a massive signing for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Recall that Arsenal signed Rice from West Ham United in the summer.

The 24-year-old has been in great form since his arrival at the Emirates, scoring two goals and providing one assist in 13 appearances across all competitions for Arsenal.

“I don’t really care if my CDM gets goals, as long as he cleans up and does the job he’s meant to,” Wright-Phillips told Betway (as quoted by Football London).

He added: “But he is taken on all the criticism and he is now getting goals – and crucial goals, game-changing goals – and also controlling games, playing well, being in the right position, cleaning up.

“I think he is a massive plus to the Arsenal team right now. If they are going to go for the title this year, I think he is going to be a key to them doing that.”
