Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Victory: Paving the Way for Women in Governance – Agbogun

In a groundbreaking development, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has been officially declared as the elected Senator of Kogi State Central Senatorial District. This historic victory is set to break barriers and open doors for more women to actively participate in governance fearlessly.

Eunice Abimbola Agbogun, the Executive Director of the Challenged Parenthood Initiative (CPI), highlighted the significance of Akpoti-Uduaghan’s triumph. She commended her unwavering strength and determination, which serves as an inspiration for women nationwide.

Agbogun emphasized that the challenges Akpoti-Uduaghan had to overcome mirror the struggles that many women encounter in their pursuit of active involvement in governance. This victory goes beyond personal achievement, it is a triumph for all women who dare to dream and aspire to lead.

Akpoti-Uduaghan’s journey embodies courage and tenacity. Her ability to navigate obstacles with grace and determination sets a shining example of unwavering dedication.

“Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s journey will serve as an enduring source of inspiration, reminding women everywhere that they must never succumb to discouragement or setbacks in their quest for equal representation and participation in the political arena,” Agbogun proclaimed.

The Challenged Parenthood Initiative (CPI), an organization dedicated to championing women’s rights and promoting gender equality, expressed immense pride in Akpoti-Uduaghan’s achievement. They avidly followed her political career, including her gubernatorial ambition in 2019.

CPI was one of the organizations that campaigned against Stop Violence Against Women In Politics (Stop VAWIP) in Kogi State. The aftermath of the 2019 election inspired them to advocate for the domestication of the VAPP Law. Now that the VAPP has been passed into law, they will continue working towards its effective implementation in the state.

With Akpoti-Uduaghan’s victory, a new era dawns for women in governance. This momentous achievement serves as a call to action for all Nigerian women to break barriers and claim their rightful place in shaping the future of our nation.
