BREAKING: Protest rocks Police Headquarters over killings in Kogi

Members of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, on Tuesday stormed the Police headquarters in Abuja protesting the killing of three policemen and a few members of the get together at Anyigba, Kogi State.

Governorship candidate of the get together in the November 11 election, Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, led protest.

Accompanied by outstanding get together members and supporters, the candidate demanded the removing and prosecution of the State Commissioner of Police, CP Bethrand Onuoha, alleging compromise in securing lives and property in the state

Trouble began when some thugs allegedly working in the guise of state joint taskforce attacked the residence of the Campaign Director General of SDP, Sheikh Ibrahim, in the early hours of Tuesday.

Three policemen had been killed in the course of the incident, whereas six supporters of the SDP had been kidnapped.

As on the time of submitting this report from the gate of the Police Force headquarters, it was gathered that the SDP governorship candidate, Ajaka, the Campaign Director General, Col. Suleiman Babanawa (retd), and a former Kogi State Deputy Governor, Simon Achuba, had been in a gathering with the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
