Bauchi Emirate Council Deposes Six Traditional Title Holders in Galambi District Area

The Bauchi Emirate Council has taken the decisive step to depose six traditional titleholders who were recently appointed in the Galambi District Area.

The council declared that the turbaning of the traditional rulers did not conform to the established guidelines.

Recall that the District Head of Galambi, Alhaji Shehu Adamu Jumba, the Danlawal of Bauchi Emirate, unilaterally appointed and turbaned traditional rulers, which included Galadiman Danlawal, Majidadin Danlawal, Wakilin Dokan Danlawal, Wakilin Gonan Danlawal, Sarkin Dajin Danlawal, and Hardon Danlawal. However, this action was met with disapproval from the Emirate Council.

The decision to strip the traditional rulers of their titles was made public in a statement issued by Malam Babangida Hassan Jahun, the chief information officer of the Bauchi Emirate Council, during the council meeting.

The statement also disclosed that the district head has been banned from making such appointments for a year, effective from November 7, 2023. Additionally, he was instructed to strictly adhere to established guidelines for future turbaning processes.
