Obi’s Generosity Shines: Donates N20m to Anglican Hospital in Enugu

In a philanthropic gesture, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has graciously donated N20 million to the Faith Foundation Mission Hospital in Enugu. This contribution aims to support the foundation’s initiative to establish a College of Nursing Sciences.

Emphasizing his unwavering dedication to investing in critical areas of national development, Mr. Obi highlighted the pressing need to prioritise the training of healthcare workers.

Expressing his commitment, Mr. Obi stated, “Over the weekend, I visited Nsukka in Enugu State, where I donated N20 million to the Faith Foundation Mission Hospital, Nsukka. This is in line with my consistent commitment to investing in the most critical areas of national development, namely: health, education, and poverty eradication.”

“The donation is my initial support to the hospital through the Anglican Bishop of Nsukka, Rt Rev. Aloysius Agbo, to help them commence the building of a College of Nursing Sciences.”

Mr. Obi also emphasized the pivotal role of healthcare workers in the primary healthcare delivery system, stressing the significance of prioritizing their training, especially in the current scenario of a shortage of healthcare professionals both nationally and globally.

He extended his gratitude to the Bishop and the entire team at Faith Foundation Hospital for their commendable decision to establish a College of Nursing Sciences. Furthermore, the former governor of Anambra State assured that he would continue to support projects aimed at national development and benefitting Nigerians.

“I will continue to support projects that will bring development to our nation and be beneficial to Nigerians, for in so doing, we will be able to build the New Nigeria of our dreams,” Mr. Obi affirmed.
