NAWOJ exposes fake journalist in Adamawa

The Adamawa State chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has raised an alarm over the fraudulent activities of an impostor, Faiza Muhammad, who is claiming to be the state secretary of the association.

The leadership of the association said on Tuesday that Faiza Muhammad is not even a journalist, let alone a member or executive of NAWOJ.

Yet, she is said to have been exploiting her claim as ‘NAWOJ secretary’ to scam members of the public around Adamawa State.

A statement jointly signed by the NAWOJ chairperson, Mrs Rose Elishama and secretary, Mrs Gloria Abutu, disclaimed that no registered member of the association bears the name Faiza Muhammad.

“In light of this, the public is strongly advised to treat any communications or requests purportedly coming from Faiza Muhammad in the guise of NAWOJ Adamawa State Secretary with scepticism.

“NAWOJ Adamawa explicitly disowns any association with Faiza Muhammad and condemns her unauthorised engagement in activities falsely linked to the organisation,” the NAWOJ statement declared.
