EEDC Restores Electricity Supply in Imo, Others following NLC and TUC Strike Suspension

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has announced the restoration of power supply in Imo State and other regions under its jurisdiction, subsequent to the suspension of the strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC).

Emeka Ezeh, the Head of Corporate Communications at EEDC, made this disclosure in a statement released on Thursday.

“The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) wishes to notify our valued customers of the reinstatement of electricity supply following the NLC and TUC’s industrial action suspension.

“Consequently, all our power supply sources at the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) stations were reestablished last night, and our outgoing feeders are now operational, except for those that are faulty.

“Furthermore, the supply to Egbu TCN station, which caters to our customers in Imo State, was also restored last night,” the statement confirmed.

This development comes shortly after the company issued a notice regarding the loss of power supply in certain areas within its coverage.

It is worth noting that the NLC and TUC national executives suspended their nationwide strike on Wednesday, subsequent to reaching an agreement with the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

Earlier on Tuesday, the NLC and TUC had commenced a nationwide indefinite strike following the assault on NLC President Joe Ajaero in Imo State.
